Position Summary
The Risk & Contracts Analyst supports the administration, coordination, and monitoring of risk and contractual matters across Eastern Construction’s projects. The role assists in reviewing contracts and project documentation, tracking contractual obligations and risk items, and supporting claims and dispute preparation under established policies and procedures.
This position works closely with project teams and collaborates with Procurement, Finance and Legal as required. The role is intended to build internal capability and continuity in risk and contract management and may evolve over time based on business needs and performance.
Key Responsibilities :
Contract & Risk Administration
- Assist in the review and administration of prime contracts, subcontracts, and related documentation.
- Track contractual obligations, key dates, notices, and deliverables to support compliance.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date contract and risk files, logs, and trackers.
- Support the preparation and coordination of contractual correspondence and documentation.
Claims & Dispute Support
Assist in assembling documentation related to claims, change events, and potential disputes.Track claim-related information, timelines, and supporting records.Support internal reviews by compiling cost, schedule, and contract information.Escalate matters requiring legal, financial or procurement review as appropriate.Policy & Procedure Application
Apply company policies, procedures, and standard practices related to risk and contract managementSupport consistent application processes across projects.Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or emerging risk trends and flag them for review.Project & Cross-Functional Support
Liaise with Project Managers to gather information, follow up on documentation, and support risk awareness.Coordinate with Procurement, Finance, and Legal on risk and contract matters as required.Support knowledge transfer, documentation, and process continuity during transitional periods.Reporting & Documentation
Maintain accurate records, trackers, and reports related to contracts, risks, and claims.Prepare summaries and supporting materials for internal review.Ensure documentation is complete, organized, and accessible.Job Knowledge & Technical Skills
Foundational understanding of contracts, contract administration, and risk management principles.Ability to read, interpret, and organize contractual and project documentation.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to manage trackers and reports.Strong attention to detail and document control skills.Understanding of construction project workflows is an asset.Initiative & Self-Management

University degree or college diploma in Legal Studies, Construction / Contract Law, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Experience
Entry-level to early-career experience in contract administration, claims management, risk management, or project administration, or a related field.Experience in construction, engineering, or project-based environments is an asset.Demonstrated ability to work with detailed documentation and structured processes.
