DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Accountable to the Senior Director, Infrastructure and Capital Development, the position ensures the safe, consistent, effective and efficient operation of building systems, and leading maintenance team members in disciplines including (but not limited to); mechanical equipment, plumbing systems, electrical infrastructure, tube carrier systems, millwork and carpentry, building painting, as well as general maintenance and preventative maintenance initiatives for the entire Oshawa site and associated off-site properties.
Ensures associated equipment preventative maintenance and repairs are performed on a scheduled and documented basis for all the electrical / mechanical equipment under their control, using the Computerized Maintenance Management system (CMMS). The Manager ensures all building infrastructure and major systems at all sites are code compliant, safe and reliable.
The Manager works closely with key building stakeholders, including clinical leaders and members of the Capital Planning and Redevelopment department to reduce and sustain the sites Facilities Condition Index (FCI) and reporting system for the MOHLTC. Ensuring all the facilities major systems are maintained in a proficient state. Aids in Developing and achieving long term strategies and plans for equipment and system replacement.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Note : Due to the complexities of each facility, there is a requirement to be available 24 / 7 to respond to emergencies and to delegate to internal staff and or contractors. This is a key component of this position in order to effectively manage and control all aspects of the ongoing operation of the facilities.
