The Role
Estimating Coordinators drive the procurement and closing of project opportunities that fall within our respective disciplines of construction. Estimating Coordinators will use workplace technologies such as Bid2Win, Bluebeam, MS Project and Excel for the review of construction drawings, specifications, quantity take-offs, and scheduling. This posting is for an existing vacancy for an Estimating Coordinator in our Oakville office.
Key Role Responsibilities
Maintain systems and procedures in relation to estimatingPerforms general administrative and recordkeeping functionsContact various trades and suppliers regarding invitations, pricing, addenda, and tender / bid closingsProduces quantity take-offs for all areas of the estimate as directed, while ensuring the take-off is well notated for hand-over to the Estimating ManagerAssist in the development of complete estimates on selected projects consisting of a project site visit, quantity take-off, pricingAssists in the selection of subcontractors and suppliersRequirements
Interfaces and communicates effectively (written and oral) with the estimating team, with all levels of management, clients, and industry contacts; contacts and develops business relationships with subcontractors and suppliers for pricing within estimates1 year of heavy civil constructionFull G licenseCompletion of post-secondary education with a diploma or degree related to Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, and EstimatingTechnical knowledge of modern construction practices, techniques, and equipmentExperience working with Bridges, Environmental and various concrete works. Knowledge of construction costs and budgets, the ability to assist with developing a project scheduleStrong computer background including experience with MS Office, Google Drive, Bluebeam, MS ProjectAbility to work in a team environment and willing to promote teamworkAbility to manage multiple priorities and to respect strict deadlinesAbility to problem solveStrong organizational skillsWorking hour Weekdays 7 : 00 am - 4 : 00pm
