Part-time Academic
Oshawa • ID: PT-LS-01R • Part-TimeDurham College is seeking an experienced and motivated professional who shares our commitment to quality and student success. The Faculty of Liberal Studies requires a part-time professor to teach Communications Courses in-person at the Oshawa or Whitby campus. This is an ongoing posting for future part-time teaching opportunities.
The primary role for the successful candidate will be to deliver Communication Foundations courses. These courses help students develop and practice the foundational skills and competencies necessary to communicate in a variety of contexts in their chosen field of study. Topics may include communication theories, techniques, models for interpersonal relationships, group dynamics, public speaking and intercultural environments.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR PART-TIME FACULTY APPLICANTS:
Part-time recruitment is ongoing and is dependent on when courses are being taught and the need for faculty to teach. Part-time faculty teach up to 6 hours per week with varied schedules Monday through Thursday between 8:00 am and 9:00 pm and Fridays between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm.

A relevant Master’s degree (relevant PhD is an asset). A professional designation is an asset.
