Friends of Ruby is dedicated to supporting the well-being of 2SLGBTQIA youth aged 16-29 through mental health services social programs and housing. WeoperateaYouth Centre offering barrier-free counselling hot meals and community programming and aTransitional Home providing emergency and long-term housing with life-skills support.

About the Role

As anOutreachVolunteer you willbe responsible for:

• Educating the Public About Friends of Ruby
• Tell members of the public about Friends of Ruby including our mission services and programs
• Answer questions about Friends of Ruby (to the best of your ability)
• Thank anyone who donates or intends to donate to Friends of Ruby
• Set Up and Take Down
• If you are able help set up the table of outreach materials ensuring all materials are neatly displayed and visible
• At the end of the outreach engagement if you are able help take down and pack up all outreach materials

What You Bring

Qualifications:

• Comfortable speaking to the public for up to 3 hours.
• Able to commute around the GTA.
• Commitment to social justice anti-racism anti-oppression housing first approach harm reduction approach and trauma-informed care.

Assets:

• Identifies asa member of the2SLGBTQIAcommunity.
• Knowledge and experience in the sector.
• Ability to support setting up and taking down the outreach table.
