Description de posteCompletion or near completion of, of Post-secondary education with a CPA designation and Three to five years financial accounting, auditing and / or budgeting experience Two years' experience in a not-for-profit sector is preferred Knowledge of the application of principles and practices employed in effective financial analysis and research, budget development and control techniques and processes Strong analytical, research, problem solving and resolution abilities Ability to communicate results of analysis and effectively interact with leaders at all levels of the organization A team player that will think strategically and effectively when faced with difficult challenges Highly organized and efficient to prioritize and work effectively in a deadline oriented environment Ability to work with minimal direction, including ensuring that all work aligns with program and Agency goals Strong project management skills Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, macros, lookup functions) Microsoft Business Central, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint Interest for process improvement and demonstrate innovation . We are seeking a financial analyst for client in non-profit, charitable organization sector. They are a multi service organization with over 500 employees, providing a broad range of services. Position Summary :
The Financial Analyst collaborates in the preparation of the Agency’s month end and year end activities, as well as, day to day functions within the accounting department
Job Duties :
- Under the direction of the Team Lead. Accounting and Reporting, the Financial Analyst :
- Participates in the preparation of the month end
- Prepares year-to-date financial reports to the Regional Governments
- Prepares journal entries and reconciliations
- Assists with preparation of monthly financial statements and reviews same
- Variance analysis of monthly general ledger and financial statements.
- Revenue recognition, funds analysis and complete government documents
- Perform detailed account analysis monthly
- Maintains year-end audit schedules
- Reconciles agency’s investments monthly and annual reconciliation
- Prepares and posts payroll journal entries
- Other assignments as directed by the Manager, Finance
