What you can expect to do here :
Lead and execute structural engineering analysis and design for a diverse range of infrastructure projects, including water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs, underground liquid containment, and solid waste management facilities, collaborating closely with the team lead and fellow engineers.Drive the structural design process-leveraging industry-leading software, spreadsheets, and manual calculations-across all project scales, from individual components to entire facilities.Prepare clear, actionable markups for BIM modellers and drafters using Bluebeam or manual methods, and contribute to project specifications and cost estimates to support seamless project delivery.Conduct site visits for both new and existing facilities, delivering insightful assessments for construction, condition evaluations, and structural rehabilitation initiatives.Apply standard engineering techniques and best practices in all assignments, fostering professional growth and upholding the highest ethical standards.Provide essential construction support services, including reviewing shop drawings, addressing RFIs, and preparing site instructions or change orders to ensure project continuity.Take initiative as a structural lead-working independently or guiding a design team-while maintaining strong collaboration with team leads and directors.Mentor and inspire young engineers, supporting their career development and strengthening the team's collective expertise.What you'll bring to WSP :
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent); Master's in Structural Engineering preferred.10+ years' experience, ideally with structural designs for water, wastewater, and solid waste facilities.P.Eng. designation (PEO in Ontario, EGBC in B.C., or APEGA in Alberta).Strong communicator-able to develop proposals, technical memos, and reports with clarity.Thrives under pressure; skilled in coordinating with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and Architectural teams.Self-driven, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.Deep knowledge of OBC, NBCC, CSA (A23.1 / 2, A23.3, S16, S900.2), ACI 350, and other relevant codes and standards.Proficient in Staad.Pro, S-Frame, CSI software; familiar with BIM360 and REVIT.Demonstrated ability to lead or collaborate within a team to deliver quality designs on deadline.Experience conducting field inspections and evaluating existing building structures.Ontario G Driver's License an asset.WSP is one of the world's leading professional services firms.
