Salary Range : $90,000-$100,000 per year plus commissions

Job Overview

As a Business Development Consultant, you will play a key role in driving growth and expanding Regroup’s presence within the Group Benefits and Group Retirement Savings space. This position is centered on building strong, trust‑based relationships with employers, plan sponsors, and key centers of influence to generate new business opportunities while strengthening existing partnerships. You will draw on your group benefits expertise, strategic sales insight, and consultative approach to deliver meaningful value to clients and contribute to sustainable growth for the company.

We are looking for a motivated, knowledgeable professional with a proven track record in sales and a solid understanding of employee benefit programs and group retirement plans. This role is ideal for a self‑starter who excels at cultivating relationships, uncovering client needs, and developing tailored solutions. The successful candidate will proactively generate leads, manage a dynamic sales pipeline, and collaborate closely with Regroup’s Manager of Group Benefits and Savings to ensure a seamless and positive client experience.

You will be responsible for achieving measurable business growth while upholding Regroup’s commitment to integrity, education, and client empowerment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the group benefits and group retirement savings market.
  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve growth and revenue targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, prospects, and referral sources.
  • Lead prospect meetings, conduct needs assessments, and facilitate plan design discussions.
  • Present proposals and recommendations with a consultative, client‑first approach.
  • Collaborate with advisors and internal service teams to ensure smooth onboarding and implementation.

Client and Market Strategy

  • Stay informed on market trends, carrier offerings, and developments within the group benefits and group retirement savings space.
  • Participate in networking events, seminars, and industry associations to enhance visibility and expand market reach.
  • Provide insights on client needs and market opportunities to support business strategy and marketing initiatives.
  • Administration and Support

  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date sales and pipeline data within the CRM
  • Prepare reports, proposals, and presentation materials for client and internal use.
  • Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with CRM platforms.
  • Familiarity with group benefit and group savings quoting tools and carrier platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in group benefits sales, consulting, or business development.
  • CEBS, GBA, or similar designations are considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of group benefits and retirement plan design and administration.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Self‑motivated, organized, and able to work independently or collaboratively.
