$28.74 – $47.91 per hour, depending on experience.

Opportunity
The Body Shop Painter will be responsible for refinishing truck body parts and bodies of trucks in accordance with factory and dealership quality specifications and time standards under the supervision of a qualified Body Shop Painter, while also fulfilling the education and training requirements of the apprenticeship / certification.
Your Responsibilities
Prepare vehicles for painting by sanding, masking, priming, and cleaning surfaces.Mix and match paint colors using computerized systems or manual techniques.Apply paint using spray guns and other equipment in a controlled booth environment.Inspect finished work for quality, consistency, and proper curing.Maintain a clean and safe work area, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.Collaborate with estimators, technicians, and other team members to meet production timelines.Perform minor repairs or touch‑ups as needed.Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations.Operate and use all body shop equipment properly and safely.Remove rust from metal, and grease and dirt from work surface.Masks and protect parts that are not to be painted or coated.Fill cavities and dents with putty to attain a smooth surface.Mix paint according to specifications.Select and mix coating liquid to produce desired colour.Paint surface using sprayer or brush as appropriate.Heat and spray wax onto products after they are tested.Maintain tools and keep equipment clean and in a proper state of repair.Wear all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, as recommended by the equipment manufacturer.Comply with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials.Report deviations to management.Cooperate and assist other personnel in the repair and prep of vehicles.Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with the company’s Health & Safety Manual.Other duties may be assigned.What We Look For
1+ years related experience, or equivalent training, education, and experience.Strong knowledge of paint mixing, application techniques, and refinishing processes.Familiarity with waterborne and solvent paint systems.Fiberglass and plastic preparation and refinishing experience a bonus.Ability to work with multiple refinishing products a bonus.Strong attention to detail and commitment to product high quality work.Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 kg or 50 pounds.Must be able to walk around the body shop floor for long periods of time.Job Details
