Who we need
Reporting to the Director of Logistics & Shipping, we are looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join our team. You will organize shipping records, maintain inventory, package product samples, and verify the carrier details.
This is an exciting opportunity to grow your logistics management experience within a supportive team environment at a global company.
You will focus on :
- Documentation, verification, and scheduling. You will :
- Prepare shipment documents, including packing slips, invoices and bills of lading.
- Compare identifying information and counts, weighing, or measuring items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Schedule transportation requirements, including shipment notification, tracking and proof of delivery.
- Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
- Package product samples and customized orders for safe handling when required.
- Prepare all freight and handling claims.
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications and the correct carrier is used.
- Inventory and imports. You will :
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Maintain a database of all imports and publish ETA status.
- Negotiate pricing with forwarders, brokers, and trucking companies.
- Collaborate with the Asia Import team to facilitate imports.
- Support. You will troubleshoot logistics issues, review all carrier selection and performance with the Director, and assist with reporting of performance measurements (volumes, costs and accuracy).
You have :
The education. You have a high school diploma or equivalent, and you are pursuing or have successfully completed CITT certification (Canadian Institute of Transportation & Traffic) or P.
Log designation (Professional Logistics).
- The experience. You have 2+ years in logistics, arranging domestic and international shipments. You have an understanding of LTL, T / L, and courier distributions, as well as customs claims and NAFTA.
- The aptitude. You have strong mathematical skills and can responsively prioritize tasks based on demand. You are solution-oriented, proactive, and can effectively present information directly to customers, clients, and other employees in the organization.
- The technical skills. You are highly proficient with MS Excel. You can adapt your skills in various shipping systems software to learn and gain expertise in our systems.
In addition, you are comfortable using MS Word.
