We are currently seeking a Designer Engineer to join our Site Development Division to work out of our Kitchener office.

Responsibilities
- Lead the technical preparation of civil design documents for Official Plan Amendment, Zoning By-Law Amendments and / or Site Plan Approval applications based on engineering principles, applicable regulatory codes and standards, and municipality design standards
- Perform and review civil engineering design and analysis including storm and sanitary design, site grading design, water distribution system design, and storm water management modeling on a range of ICI and residential site development projects
- Review functional servicing and stormwater management reports for accuracy and completion;
- Evaluate project information to identify possible design solutions
- Coordinate and communicate with the Project Manager, junior designer, CAD technician, clients and other consultants to ensure design will work within the overall scope of the project
- Responsible for reviewing and sealing design documents completed by yourself and others
- Review, navigate and address reviewing agency comments received on civil documents submitted as part of OPA, ZBA, and / or SPA applications
- Attend and participate in internal and external project team meetings and coordinate with team members to ensure efficient and timely delivery of project deliverables
- Other related duties, as assigned
Requirements
Degree in Civil Engineering, Applied Science or a related field4-10 years of related work experienceStrong knowledge of civil engineering principals and design standardsExcellent technical report writing skills, as well as written and verbal communication and comprehension skillsExcellent time management and organizational skillsStrong problem solving skills accompanied by attention to detailWorking knowledge of MS Office software, including Outlook, Excel and WordWorking knowledge of various hydraulic and hydrological modeling software (MIDUSS NET, SWMHYMO, VO OTTHYMO, FlowMaster, HEC-RAS, etc)Working knowledge of municipal approvals process in Southwestern Ontario (OPA, ZBA, SPA)Familiar with Project Management PrinciplesFamiliarity with AutoCAD Civil 3dWhat we Offer
