Take action today by applying and join us in shaping tomorrow together!  Posting Details : Application Deadline : February 20, 2026 at 12 : 00pm Position Status : Full-time Seasonal Contract Estimated Contract Length : May 4, 2026 - August 27, 2026 Current Vacancies :   Up to four (4) vacancies Hourly Rate : $20.24 per hour (rate effective January 1, 2026) Hours per Week : 40 hours per week, Monday - Thursday with Fridays off Position Location : Peterborough, ON Position Group :  Non-Union, Seasonal Competition # : NUG-25-08 What you'll do : The Civil Engineering Students will assist with the design and inspection of various road and bridge construction projects.

Under the supervision of senior staff, this position will assist with the preparation of engineering design drawings and specifications, construction inspection, culvert condition inspections, surveying, traffic counts, and collection of GPS data.

Pre-Tender Inspections & Data Collection : You will work in field to capture existing conditions of County owned infrastructure for design & budgetary reasons.

Construction Inspection : You will visit current construction projects to assure adherence to various OPSS specifications along with quantity verification.

Locates : You will head to the field and mark out existing County infrastructure to facilitate safe work for customers working in the County’s right of way.

In accordance with County Policy, a Police Record Check that is acceptable to the County will be required as a condition of employment.

The selection process is expected to take place throughout February and March. Keep a close eye on your email to ensure you don't miss out on this exciting opportunity.  This job is for you if… Our non-negotiables :  You are a current student in an Engineering-related program and are either returning to school in the fall or graduating in 2026. You have a valid, Ontario G2 (or higher) driver’s license, a clean driver’s abstract, and are comfortable operating a light-duty pick-up truck. You have, or are willing purchase, CSA-approved footwear before the start date.

Experience :   You have experience in, or are interested in gaining experience in, Municipal Civil Engineering Skills We’re Looking For :   You have strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

You pride yourself in your attention to detail, especially when completing documentation or inputting data / information.
