Senior Integrations Developer – Initiatives & Opportunities (January 2026 – March 2027)
Mohawk College is undertaking a major digital transformation through the Banner Business Transformation Project, reimagining our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Banner, and related processes to enhance the student, faculty, and staff experience. The Senior Integrations Developer will develop, support, maintain, and implement enterprise system integrations and data‑exchange solutions. The incumbent will design integration architectures, APIs, middleware, and data flows that connect internal systems and third‑party platforms within the College’s core enterprise application ecosystem, emphasizing reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability.

Responsibilities
What You'll Be Doing
- Full lifecycle integration development – end‑to‑end integration of software applications and systems from design through development, testing, deployments, and maintenance.
- Design, develop, and maintain key middleware components in the application stack.
- Ensure new and existing system designs align with enterprise architecture standards, IT security standards, and organizational goals and values.
- Design, develop, and test applications on desktop and mobile devices.
- Use container, cloud, and other technologies in application and systems development.
- Provide business and technical advice related to applications and integrations with new and / or existing partners or clients.
- Implement, configure, and use tools for source code control, development, and deployment.
- Implement, configure, and use tools for enhancements, bugs, defects, and other item reporting and tracking.
- Identify and log defects in and potential improvements to existing codebases, including custom applications and underlying libraries.
- Design fixes and improvements for applications and libraries, with attention to modularity and reusability.
- Modify existing applications and libraries to fix defects and implement improvements.
- Analyze and resolve problems related to custom applications reported by students and staff.
Planning, Design, and Standards
Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and document development requirements for enterprise applications.Develop and present proof of concepts for new, existing, or proposed enterprise solutions.Participate in project and defect meetings with business and technical stakeholders to validate requirements and design specifications.Create, edit, and modify technical and end‑user documentation for enterprise applications, systems, libraries, or other related technologies.Participate in sprint and iteration planning.Ensure standards compliance for enterprise applications and systems.Research and propose new technologies for continuous improvements.Follow established practices for the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).Enterprise Application Maintenance and Testing
Design and perform application testing, including manual and automated unit tests, functional and non‑functional tests, and performance / load tests.Plan and develop a release calendar to ensure a cadence of regular software releases.What You'll Bring to the Role
A minimum of three years of post‑secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, relational database design, programming design and techniques, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum two years’ experience working in an Agile, Scrum, or DevOps environment with planning and executing project development tasks.Over five years of hands‑on experience in integration development using Java, Java EE, JavaScript, Spring, Python, Django, Angular, React, Node.js, and NoSQL technologies.Five or more years of experience in system architecture, enterprise‑level application design, and ERP integration, with deep expertise in APIs, ETL processes, middleware, and integration patterns.Proficiency in HTML, XML, CSS, and JavaScript, with practical experience using modern JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS, React, and Node.js.Extensive experience with server‑side languages including Python and Java, with a strong foundation in object‑oriented programming principles.Skilled in working with SQL, MySQL, Oracle, and MongoDB databases.Expertise in web service development and integration using REST, SOAP, JMS messaging, and both Request / Reply and Publish / Subscribe models.Strong knowledge of complex integration architecture and design, including microservices architecture and Azure integration services.Advanced hands‑on experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, and event‑driven architectures.Proficiency with testing tools like SOAP UI and Selenium, and container platforms including Docker, Kubernetes, and RedHat OpenShift.Familiarity with the Ethos platform (Ethos Experience, Ethos Data Connect, Ethos API Platform) is an asset.Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse students, employees, and communities.What We Offer
