Seasonal Material Handler

Shifts available - morning and afternoon

Pay rate - $21.00 an hour with additional premium of $1.00 an hour for afternoon shifts

Job Description

To assist with all receiving processing shipping returns and inventory operations in the Distribution Centre : unloading / loading by hand lifting scanning sorting picking packing labelling and checking stock as required. To ensure the Distribution Centre operates with optimum precision and efficiency. Working within all areas of the warehouse depending on the business requirement : Receiving Processing Shipping Inventory Control and Returns.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS-

• Work under supervision and direction of department Supervisor and team lead
• Help to efficiently carry out all product loading and unloading tasks by hand
• Scan and track incoming and outgoing orders
• Receive and process new inventory ensuring contents match manifest documents
• Inspect receivables for defects damages or missing items
• Properly scan and inventory incoming goods
• Perform detailed manual inventory counts as required
• Label warehouse stock for quick and easy identification and retrieval
• Pick prepare package and label goods for shipment
• Double-check items to verify the accuracy of outgoing orders
• Manually load and unload product to and from trailers and containers
• Keep workplace clean and tidy (general housekeeping)
• Ensure tools and equipment are kept clean and in working order
• Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to upper management
• Follow all warehouse policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Adhere to health and safety rules and regulations at all times
• Wear protective clothing and equipment as required
• Work with other Distribution Centre team members to effectively complete assigned tasks
• Other duties as assigned
