Position DescriptionChristian Fellowship Church is currently accepting applications for the position of Pastor. This fellowship of believers with a German Lutheran heritage is seeking a man who sees pastoral ministry as a calling rather than a career and who wishes to further God's kingdom. The Pastor provides Bible-based spiritual leadership for the congregation through preaching, counselling, visiting, evangelizing, discipling, administering the sacraments, engaging in outreach, and performing weddings and funerals. The Pastor is a member, within the limits of legislated guidelines, of the Church Board and Elders and is accountable to these groups. In addition to having a strong commitment to Jesus Christ and a sincere love for people, the successful candidate will have completed formal theological training and have several years of pastoral experience. Specific Job Duties : The Pastor is responsible for : Coordinating and conducting Sunday worship services;Overseeing and assisting in weekly Bible studies and prayer meetings;Administering baptism and communion;Conducting premarital counselling prior to performing weddings;Providing confidential pastoral counselling (the Pastor is bound by a seal of confession in regard to all counselling);Visiting Church members and attendees on a regular basis;Coordinating and overseeing evangelistic outreaches including Church retreats;Attending Church Board meetings, congregational meetings, committee meetings and other relevant Church meetings, as an ex-officio, time permitting;Conducting confirmation / baptism classes; Supporting youth ministryProviding Christian guidance, support and training; and,Other duties as assigned.
