What is the opportunity? Supports the development and maintenance of scalable data stores that supply big data in forms needed for business analysis. Applies complete knowledge, skills, and practices to perform assignments. Data Engineer on the Insurance data Lake Team in Technology & Operations at the Royal Bank of Canada?RBC`s Insurance data lake is responsible for Maintaining Insurance Data Lake the feeds into and out of Insurance data lake support for critical business and risk analytics, business reporting and Regulatory Reporting needs. Insurance data lake is a Large diverse environment utilizing Various platforms like Big Data, Cloudera, Snowflake, Unix, Windows, SQL Server, Mainframe, IBM Datastage etc . RBCI IDL team a young energetic, dynamic, collaborative, progressive and highly performing team of individuals who are highly talented and willing to share and work together. What will you do? Our team is looking for a data engineer who is constantly thinking outside the box, ready to dive deep into the smallest details, is passionate about contributing to the successful delivery of his responsibilities. The Insurance Data Lake team utilizes a diverse spectrum of technical environments Unix / Windows / Data lake / Mainframe… scripting in JCL, PowerShell, bat. Java, Spark, Scala, SQL, Unix Shel. To IBM Web sphere DataStage coding options to RBC’s inhouse IDP data ingestion tool.

• Creating software for retrieving, parsing and processing structured and unstructured data.
• Defining and building scalable ETL / ELT workflows for reporting and analytics.
• Supporting project team to scale, monitor and operate data platforms for very high availability and performance.
• Developing scripts and programs for converting various types of data into usable formats.
