Estimator (CNC Shop) – SE Calgary Location WeManageHR is excited to assist our valued client in SE Calgary in filling the position of Estimator for their CNC shop. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional with a strong background in CNC machining and a passion for accurate and efficient estimating. Position : Estimator (CNC Shop) Location : SE Calgary, AB Type : Full-time About the Role : As an Estimator, you will play a key role in the manufacturing process by providing accurate estimates of machining cycle times and setup times for CNC-manufactured parts. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience, with a strong understanding of quoting and routing preferred. You'll collaborate closely with production teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective production while maintaining high-quality standards. Key Responsibilities : Review part designs and specifications to develop accurate machining cycle and setup time estimates. Evaluate material requirements and machining processes for both prototype and production parts. Collaborate with programmers, machinists, production staff, and customers to assess the feasibility of manufacturing processes. Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, machine time, and materials for quoting purposes. Monitor production schedules and ensure estimates align with production capabilities and deadlines. Assist with routing and process planning to optimize manufacturing efficiency. Support reviewing customer requests for quotes (RFQs) and determining the best machining solutions. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CNC machining technology, tooling, and materials. Requirements : At least 5 years of hands-on CNC machining experience (setup and operation). Strong background in estimating machining cycle and setup times. Experience in quoting and routing preferred. Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings / blueprints.
