Based in Ottawa, Ontario the Intermediate Project Engineer will report to the Manager of Project Engineering and will have a wide range of duties which ultimately focus around leading the day-to-day activities in the Project Engineering group responsible for executing all cross-disciplined Engineering projects for external and internal customers at Gastops. This role is a combination of both Project Management and System Engineering functions required to deliver highly reliable products for harsh environments in mission critical applications.
What You'll Do :
The Intermediate Project Engineer will be part of the Project Engineering team with the primary focus of executing a variety of internal and external projects by directing cross-disciplined Engineering resources. You will :
- Manage one or more cross-disciplined Engineering projects through all product life-cycle stages
- Create, manage and maintain detailed project plans driving project team milestones to completion
- Report on internal and external project reviews, status updates and performance metrics
- Identify and manage project risks including contingency planning and risk mitigation plans
- Manage client and system level requirements and their derivation to lower-level requirements
- Ensure the project maintains accurate project documentation
- Own and manage system level design documentation and issues
- Identify and resolve technical issues and problems that arise during the project
- Coordinate and ensure communication across various cross-discipline teams to ensure project goals are met
- Ensure client project and product requirements compliance throughout the project life cycle
- Review and ensure Project Management, System Engineering & Quality project process compliance
- Support the development of major Project Engineering initiatives, budgets & roadmaps
- Work closely with the manager of Project Engineering to execute major department initiatives
- Support the execution of day-to-day activities within the Project Engineering team

The ideal candidate will have an Engineering or equivalent degree with at least 5-10 years of combined demonstrated Project Management and System Engineering experience. Additionally, you should have :
