Mechanical Assembler / Truck Body Builder
Location : Kitchener
Pay Rate : $22–$24 per hour
Job Type : Full-Time | Temp-to-Perm (Permanent opportunity available)
Job Overview
We are currently hiring a Mechanical Assembler / Truck Body Builder to join our production team. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys building, assembling, and working with tools. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to transition into a permanent position based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
Build and assemble truck bodies and related equipment
Perform mechanical assembly of multiple truck body components
Measure, align, drill, bolt, screw, and rivet components accurately
Assemble mechanical and hydraulic equipment, including hydraulic hoses
Safely and properly use hand and power tools
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and assembly drawings
Perform QA sign-off on completed tasks to ensure quality standards
Support service projects and repairs as requested by the Shop Foreman
Assist with picking, packing, shipping, unloading, and general production tasks as needed
Operate forklift equipment when required (if certified)
Perform other duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics
Ability to accurately read a tape measure (including fractions)
Experience using hand and power tools
Experience with hydraulics and / or pneumatics is considered an asset
Forklift certification (Reach, Counterbalance, Order Picker, Walkie) is an asset but not required
Physical Requirements
Medium-duty work
Ability to lift and move materials as required in a production environment
Certifications
Forklift certification is an asset
Safety Requirements
Basic Tools and Steel-toed safety boots are required (must be brought by the candidate)
Safety goggles will be provided
Interview Process
Casual interview with a walk-through of the facility
Basic mechanical testing may be required
Candidates must wear steel-toed footwear for the interview
