Senior Cloud Engineer

Overview

Join our Cloud Engineering Team! We are seeking a Cloud Engineer who can seamlessly combine tech know-how with an eye for business to meet our cloud computing needs, including infrastructure design, maintenance, support and planning. You have experience with cloud-based technologies, PaaS, and know how to customize these for our business to improve security and efficiency. You are able to evolve our cloud capabilities over time and develop your own engineering skills while monitoring developments that can support our expansion.

Responsibilities

• Work in tandem with our engineering team to identify and implement the most efficient cloud-based solutions for the company.
• Plan, craft and develop cloud-based applications.
• Manage cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines.
• Deploy and debug cloud initiatives as needed against standard processes throughout the development lifecycle.
• Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing training as needed.
• Apply outstanding problem-solving skills to anticipate and mitigate problems in advance.
• Apply your knowledge of APIs to craft RESTful services, and integrate them with existing data providers, using JSON or XML as needed.
• Lead and develop standard processes for a larger Cloud Engineer team.
• Build and design web services in the cloud, along with implementing the setup.
• Orchestrate and automate cloud-based platforms throughout the company.
• Participate in Agile sprints and ceremonies; support rapid iteration and development.
• Design, develop, test, maintain and improve application APIs as a member of a team, working across data, orchestration, rules and transactional stacks through the entire SDLC.
• Build code to specifications and standards.
• Create and conduct executable tests, and continuously integrate code into the software framework.
• Research technical strategies, third-party tools, and current and new technologies to address emerging issues and improve development efficiency.
• Promote agile principles and methodology.

Salary and Location

Referenced Salary Location : CAN, Ontario, Toronto, 200 Bloor Street East. Hybrid work arrangement. Salary range is expected to be between $113,000.00 CAD - $163,000.00 CAD. If applying outside the primary location, contact recruitment@manulife.com for salary range for your location. Actual salary varies by location and factors. Eligible employees may participate in incentive programs.
