Role Summary

The Consultant, Business Systems Analyst works with internal and external stakeholders, including technology and business teams, to develop and implement data solutions tailored to a project’s requirements. Projects vary from Waterfall to Agile and technology ranges from legacy to cutting-edge. The analyst is involved throughout the lifecycle, capturing and documenting requirements, test strategy / plans, test cases, execution of testing, sign off and implementation into production.

Major Areas of Responsibility

• Deliver excellence and develop deep understanding of business issues and data challenges.
• Ensure requirements are clear, complete and eliminate ambiguities.
• Establish solution quality through validation against requirements.
• Communicate clearly with all project team members to identify and resolve issues.
• Escalate issues promptly when required.
• Participate in development of project plans to set workload expectations and schedules.
• Own responsibility to meet deadlines and complete work according to project plans.
• Drive and own requirements gathering across the overall project.
• Create detailed functional and non-functional requirements documents, review and obtain sign off from stakeholders.
• Provide ongoing updates and review throughout the project lifecycle.
• Create and execute test strategy, plans and test cases.
• Own defect management and drive regression testing if required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other

Experience working with databases, data warehouses, ETLs, analytics and reporting.
