Technical Proposal Writer You will be a key member of our team, helping us win new business, and setting the company up for continued success. There are many qualities that will help you succeed in this role, but the MOST IMPORTANT is domain experience – it is essential that you are able to read and interpret highly technical government water and wastewater RFP’s as they relate complex engineering projects, and craft bid-winning responses. Ideally, you will also have worked in the water and waste water field. We want someone who is a critical thinker and has an aptitude for technical analysis. Someone who can sift through significantly complex RFPs, drawing out only the most pertinent information. The best in this role have put in their time to develop a deep understanding of the process and structure of these bids and understand what is required to respond successfully. It should go without saying that you’re an exceptionally strong communicator and have the drive to succeed. When not writing proposals, you’ll also be involved in producing copy for sales, marketing, and other initiatives. On a practical level, you’ll be responsible for: * Working with the company principles to respond to Request for Proposals * Producing proposal documents in response to RFPs, etc. * Working as project manager to quarterback ongoing RFP bids * Working with sales and marketing to articulate the NLS value proposition in all our material * Provide analysis and strategic insight to potential bids and growth opportunities * Develop an understanding of overall account plans and priorities as they relate to the direction of the business * Read and understand legal and government documentation * Produce a variety of written material as required (white papers, blog posts, sales/marketing copy, etc.) What are we looking for? We’re looking for someone who shares our sense of purpose and has these qualifications: * A post-secondary degree or diploma in any field of engineering * Experience reading, interpreting, and responding to highly technical, government RFP’s * Experience as a technical proposal writer in the engineering field * Experience working in water/wastewater engineering is a HUGE asset * Experience preparing/reviewing legal contracts is an asset * Experience working in the renewable energy sector is an added benefit * Advanced proficiency with MS Office Working @ NLS Engineering NLS Engineering is rapidly growing thanks to our strong leadership, technical excellence, and service orientation. The target salary range for this position is $50,000 to $60,000 commensurate with experience, and the compensation package includes benefits, gym membership, vacation, and a corporate pantry.
