Comcor Environmental Limited is a growing company in Ontario specializing in the landfill gas industry. Our mission is to transform landfill gas into clean renewable energy while ensuring safe and efficient operations. With exciting new opportunities and a commitment to environmental innovation we are expanding our team. We are currently seeking a full-time Plant Operator to join us in the Mississauga area. Join our growing team and play a vital role in driving sustainable solutions in greenhouse gas reduction and energy production.
Position Summary:
As a Plant Operator you will play a critical role in operating and maintaining our landfill gas-to-energy facilities. This hands-on role is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional passionate about renewable energy and sustainability. While the position is based in Mississauga travel within the Southern Ontario corridor may be required.
This position is an onsite role and is an open vacancy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain landfill gas to energy utilization facilities.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues efficiently.
- Record and maintain operational and maintenance logs for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve system issues and implement improvements.
- Comply with safety and environmental standards and participate in regular training programs.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (technical training or certification is an asset)
- Experience: 5 years of experience in plant operations or maintaining mechanical machinery is preferred. Experience in the landfill gas or renewable energy sector is preferred but not required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word) for data entry and reporting.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Additional Details:
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM 4:00 PM (day shift).
- On-Call Requirements: On call every 6-7 weeks in Southern Ontario.
- Overtime: Approximately 20 hours per month.
- Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor- Southern Ontario Operations.
Compensation:
$32 to $40 per hour
