Job Summary
The Machine Operator – WEINMANN Equipment is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient operation of WEINMANN automated machinery used in the production of prefabricated wall, floor, and roof components. This role ensures products are manufactured to specification, quality standards are maintained, and production targets are met.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation
- Operate WEINMANN equipment (e.g., wall lines, CNC bridges, saws, nailing and framing stations) according to production schedules
- Load materials (lumber, panels, fasteners) into machines safely and correctly
- Set up machines for different product types and dimensions
- Monitor machine performance during operation and make minor adjustments as needed
Quality Control
Verify dimensions, tolerances, and assembly accuracy per drawings and specificationsConduct routine in-process quality checksIdentify defects, misalignments, or machine errors and report issues promptlyEnsure finished components meet company and customer quality standardsSafety & Housekeeping
Follow all plant safety policies, lockout / tagout procedures, and PPE requirementsMaintain a clean and organized work areaIdentify and report safety hazards or near‑miss incidentsMaintenance & Troubleshooting
Perform daily and weekly machine inspectionsCarry out basic preventative maintenance (cleaning, lubrication, tool changes)Assist maintenance personnel with diagnostics and repairs when requiredReport recurring mechanical or software issuesDocumentation & Communication
Read and interpret shop drawings, production schedules, and work instructionsComplete production reports, quality checklists, and downtime logsCommunicate effectively with supervisors, quality staff, and downstream operationsRequired Qualifications & Skills
Experience operating CNC or automated manufacturing equipment (wood or panel processing preferred)Ability to read technical drawings and production documentsBasic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsStrong attention to detail and qualityAbility to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environmentPhysical ability to stand for long periods and lift materials as requiredPreferred Qualifications
Prior experience with WEINMANN equipment or similar automated framing systemsExperience in prefabrication, modular construction, or panelized building systemsBasic computer skills (HMI operation, data entry)Forklift or overhead crane certificationWork Environment
