Salary Range : $65,000.00 To $70,000.00 Annually

We’re looking for a Research & Product Development Specialist to join our team and play a key role in bringing new products to life—safely, efficiently, and in full regulatory compliance.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who loves problem‑solving in the lab, collaborating across teams, and driving products from concept through formulation and production readiness.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Execute assigned pre‑formulation and formulation lab activities to support new product development.
• Apply your expertise in formulation development, excipient compatibility, and data analysis.
• Perform and review chemical analysis on raw materials and bulk / finished products.
• Troubleshoot formulation challenges and contribute to timely, on‑track project delivery.
• Prepare clear, concise summary reports and present findings to management.
• Ensure full compliance with safety standards, GMPs, and documentation best practices.
• Jump in on additional projects as needed—no two days are the same.
• Prepare documentation related to corrective and preventative actions.
• Maintain R&D dry goods inventory and test sample storage.
• Build strong working relationships across teams to keep information flowing smoothly.
• Provide backup coverage for the Smokehouse team when needed.
• Support team initiatives and cross‑functional projects.
• Uphold all HACCP and SQF requirements and report food safety or quality concerns.
• Participate in and support HACCP / SQF training and compliance initiatives.
• Help guide others in maintaining department‑wide compliance.
• Work safely and in compliance with WorkSafe BC and company safety standards.
• Report injuries or safety concerns promptly.
• Actively participate in health and safety training and initiatives.
