Mission : The Administrative Supervisor – Accounting Department will lead and manage a team of accounting clerks responsible for data entry within the accounting department of a manufacturing company specializing in construction materials and projects. This role is critical for ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial data related to manufacturing operations, ticketing to invoicing, hired truck entries, and fuel reconciliation.
Main Responsibilities
- Supervise, support, and oversee a team of accounting clerks responsible for data entry of invoices, inventory transactions, hired truck entries, and fuel reconciliation data related to manufacturing and construction projects.
- Manage the accurate entry and verification of hired truck records, including delivery documentation, coding details, and invoicing, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and internal controls.
- Coordinate the fuel reconciliation process by overseeing the recording of fuel consumption data, deliveries, and expenses, aligning costs appropriately to projects or department budgets.
- Review and validate data entries for completeness and accuracy; resolve discrepancies by liaising with procurement, operations, and accounts receivable teams.
- Train and develop team members on accounting systems, data entry procedures, compliance standards, and specific processes related to manufacturing tickets, hired trucks, and fuel reconciliation.
- Maintain and improve data entry and record‑keeping processes by aligning with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and company policies related to financial data management in manufacturing and construction environments.
- Prepare regular reports on team performance, data accuracy, and process efficiencies for management review.
- Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing processes by ensuring complete and accurate data entry within set deadlines.
- Handle administrative tasks including scheduling, attendance monitoring, and conflict resolution within the team.
Qualifications / Requirements
Proven supervisory experience in accounting or finance, preferably within manufacturing or construction sectors.Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage priorities.Strong leadership and interpersonal communication abilities.Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams in a manufacturing or construction environment.Relevant qualification in accounting, finance, business administration, or related discipline is preferred.Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe software.Ability to work well in a fast‑paced, collaborative, and team‑based environment.Adaptability to a changing work environment.Education and Experience
3 to 5 years supervisory experience.Accounting or Administrative Diploma or Degree from a recognized post‑secondary, college or university.Compensation Data
The anticipated salary range for this position is $70,000‑$80,000 CAD per year. The final compensation package will be determined based on factors including the candidate’s job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
