Description de posteStrategic & Technical Leadership - You will provide strategic leadership and technical oversight for environmental, health and safety (EHS) related projects and opportunities include EHS auditing, development of integrated safety management systems, development and implementation of policies and procedures and various advisory services related to EHS projects. You will lead the development and implementation of EHS services including methodologies, standards, and innovation initiatives. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, internal stakeholders, and executive leadership on Environmental, Health and Safety matters. You will oversee project delivery, ensuring quality, compliance, and profitability across a portfolio of high-impact projects. You will mentor technical staff and contribute to talent development and succession planning. You will represent WSP in industry associations, technical committees, and client engagements. You will drive thought leadership in Health and Safety, contributing to publications, conferences, and strategic initiatives. Seller / Doer & Business Growth - You will act as a “seller / doer” by actively engaging in business development activities while leading project execution. You will play a key role in driving business growth through client relationship management, opportunity identification, and strategic proposal development. You will work collaboratively to drive growth by supporting business development activities and key pursuits. You will increase the visibility of WSP by sharing knowledge and innovation at key client engagements. You will actively participate in the Go / No Go review process, contribute to win strategies, and ensure successful project execution through hands-on involvement in key pursuits, client management, and project management. You will lead growth by developing and leading the business development, key pursuit, and sales strategy, holding team members accountable to expand reach and client base. You will partner with other leadership to drive collaboration on pursuits across geographies and business lines. You will be responsible for utilizing and ensuring the opportunity pipeline is maintained, including opportunity forecasting. Project & People Management - You will proactively identify opportunities to reinforce and further develop WSP’s high-performance culture with a focus on talent, quality, innovation, productivity, excellence, and business performance in pursuits. You will inspire, motivate, and hold the team accountable for the delivery of innovative design solutions throughout the pursuit and project stages. You will build strong partnerships with business leaders in other WSP sectors to foster collaboration, grow new expertise, increase work share opportunities, and drive growth. You will oversee risk management related to projects and pursuits, including review of contracts, fees, and proposals on large pursuits. You will collaborate with the team in developing, attracting, engaging, and retaining top talent while supporting the overall talent management lifecycle. You will establish employee connectedness to leadership by interfacing frequently with employees and participating in meetings to communicate the vision, business strategy, and progress against action plans. You will always ensure health and safety policies and procedures are followed on all projects and take WSP's Life Saving rules to heart. Education : A bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering (Master’s preferred) within a relevant field (Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Occupational Hygiene or similar scientific discipline). Professional Designation : Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) Canadian Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Construction Safety Officer (CSO) Experience : Minimum 20–25 years of progressive experience in Environmental, Health and Safety, including 10+ years in senior leadership or technical director roles. Minimum 15 years of experience within the health and safety consulting sector in Ontario and Atlantic Canada markets, including 10 years of direct involvement in or managing pursuits / proposals for environmental health and safety services. Technical Expertise : Excellent industrial acumen and experience in both environmental, and health and safety fields, especially in the industrial / manufacturing and infrastructure development sector. Excellent technical knowledge of the principals and comprehensive practice of health and safety. A solid understanding of ISO management systems including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. Knowledge of provincial, territorial and federal occupational health and safety legislation. Initiative to apply knowledge and suggest practical solutions to client challenges. Leadership & Strategic Impact : Demonstrated leadership on key projects and experience with delivering project excellence. Strong seller-doer capable of generating work, creating long-term relationships, and delivering long-term value to clients for WSP. Highly collaborative and driven to form internal partnerships. Knowledge of market assessment techniques, insights, and contacts. A solid understanding of the local and national occupational hygiene and safety consulting markets; including relationships with clients and potential business partners. An entrepreneurial orientation with a strong understanding of the business development challenges of a consulting services provider. Proven ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams and manage complex project portfolios. Strategic thinker with experience in business development, client relationship management, and operational oversight. Demonstrated ability to influence organizational strategy and drive innovation. Communication : Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Professional Associations : Active membership in relevant industry bodies. Additional Experience : Experience with responding to Requests for Proposals, Expressions of Interest, and Statements of Qualifications. Must be able to obtain federal security clearance.

You will serve as a senior leader and subject matter expert, responsible for shaping the strategic direction of WSP’s environmental, health and safety services across Ontario and beyond. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a track record of delivering complex, high-impact projects.
