Entry Level Translator

JOB DESCERIPTION

Massanutten Military Academy is seeking Entry Level Translator to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong command of at least two languages, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently. This is a part-time / full-time remote role for a freelance translator. The Freelance Translator will be responsible for translating documents and communications between English and one or more of the following languages: Spanish, Portuguese, French, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Italian. The Freelance Translator will also be expected to proofread and edit translations if necessary. If you have military background is an added advantage as we need your experince as this is a military school.

Responsibilities

• Translate a variety of documents from one language to another, while maintaining the content, context, and tone of the original text.
• Proofread and edit translated materials to ensure accuracy, completeness, and fluency.
• Conduct research on industry-specific terminology and translate technical documents as needed.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high-quality work.
• Communicate with students to clarify project requirements and ensure satisfaction.
• Maintain confidentiality and protect the integrity of sensitive information.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6months of professional experience as a translator or interpreter
• Fluency in at least two languages, including English
• If you have military background we need you too
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in all languages
• Strong knowledge of translation software and tools
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Capability to perform tasks autonomously and handle multiple responsibilities concurrently
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong focus on precision and a dedication to delivering excellent work
