This position will operate on a hybrid schedule, with the expectation that the successful candidate will work from our Toronto office three days per week.

About The Opportunity

We are looking for a Test Automation Engineer with strong experience in building, maintaining, and optimizing automated test frameworks for modern software applications. The successful candidate will work closely with product, engineering, and data teams to ensure application quality, reliability, scalability, and performance across large enterprise environments.

You will play a key role in designing test strategies, developing automated test suites, improving CI / CD quality gates, and contributing to overall product excellence.

Automation Architecture, Test Planning & Quality Strategy

Develop and maintain detailed automation test plans, test cases, and quality metrics.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risks, clarify requirements, and ensure comprehensive test coverage.

Evaluate system performance, reliability, and scalability through automation and targeted test scenarios.

Get to 100% automated test coverage

Perform regression, smoke, and exploratory testing.

Ensure test suites are continuously updated and optimized.

Document defects, maintain test artifacts, and support release readiness reviews.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality releases.

Participate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives.

Provide guidance on best practices in automation, testing methodologies, and quality engineering.

Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve pipeline efficiency and quality gates.

Security, Compliance & Quality Governance

Ensure automated tests and processes support secure handling of sensitive organizational data.

Identify risks, vulnerabilities, and areas of improvement related to quality and test coverage.

Skills And Experience We Value

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

3+ years of hands-on QA engineering or automation engineering experience, preferably in SaaS or enterprise environments.

Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks (UI, API, and / or data).

Strong understanding of functional, regression, performance, and integration testing.

Experience contributing to automated quality pipelines and working within CI / CD ecosystems.

Required Technical Skills

Proficiency with test automation tools / frameworks such as :

Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar

Postman, REST Assured, or similar for API automation

Strong programming skills in one or more languages :

Python

Experience with :

Node.js back‑end environments

CI / CD tools and version control (GitHub Actions, Git)

Strong debugging and troubleshooting abilities across complex systems

Familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6) is a plus
