Position Summary

Waterloo Regional Health Network pharmacists provide clinical pharmaceutical care in a variety of settings: inpatient acute care, complex continuing care, childbirth, rehab, pediatrics, outpatient cancer, outpatient renal and a geriatrics drug information resource program. For this position, experience in oncology pharmacy practice is preferred. Pharmacists are decentralized and work on the clinical units as an integrated collaborative team member. Pharmacists attend multi-disciplinary rounds, oversee therapeutic drug monitoring, provide drug information, counsel patients, mentor students and participate in a robust medication reconciliation program. All of our technicians are certified by the Ontario College of Pharmacists and take full responsibility for all of the distribution functions of pharmacy services.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Pharmacy
• Current pharmacist license with the Ontario College of Pharmacists, Part A
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent problem solving skills and demonstrated initiative
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
• Proven good attendance record

Preferred Requirements

• Experience in oncology pharmacy practice is preferred
• Hospital Residency preferred
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in-patient hospital pharmacy practice preferred
