Position Summary
We are seeking a Clinical Assistant to provide support to our Primary Care Physicians and clinical team. This role is responsible for coordinating patient flow, preparing examination rooms, and assisting physicians with clinical procedures. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment and demonstrate strong attention to detail, professionalism, and compassionate patient care.
What you will be doing
Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared at the beginning and end of each day.Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for physician assessment.Provide excellent customer service to all patients, ensuring comfort and confidentiality.Take patient vitals, dip urine, and administer injections as delegated by a physician.Collect and send samples and lab requisitions accurately and in a timely manner.Collaborate with office staff on paperwork, referrals, and test result coordination.Liaise with patients regarding INR instructions and test results when delegated by a physician.Clean, disinfect, and autoclave medical instruments in compliance with clinical safety standards.Maintain medical supply inventory and ensure consistent availability of required items.Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.Use the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) daily to document patient interactions and manage data efficiently.You have
Post-secondary education in the medical field (RPN) or equivalent work-related experience.International Medical Graduate (IMG) background is an asset.2–3 years of work experience in a primary care environment.Previous experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR).Strong attention to detail and the ability to detect errors quickly.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a mature and professional approach to customer service.Ability to work effectively under pressure in a high-volume clinical setting.Proficiency in patient triage and identifying clinical emergencies.The salary for this position falls within a defined range and will be determined based on several factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and the needs of the organization.
