How Youll Contribute
As a Civil Project Manager, youll play a pivotal role in turning plans into reality. Youll oversee multiple projects from early planning through completion, ensuring work is executed safely, on schedule, and on budget. Acting as the hub between clients, field teams, subcontractors, and leadership, youll keep projects moving, problems solved, and expectations exceeded.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership, and understands that great project delivery starts with great communication and planning.
Location & Hours
This position is based out of our Cranbrook office (1600A Theatre Rd., Cranbrook, BC), with regular in-office hours of Monday to Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. 5 : 00 p.m.
Travel to project sites is required, and weekend and / or overtime work may be necessary from time to time to keep projects on track.
What Youll Get to Do
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead projects from pre-bid through closeout, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution
- Conduct initial site visits and walkthroughs to support bid preparation and project planning
- Develop and manage mobilization and demobilization plans
- Oversee site preparation, permitting, procurement, and scope development
- Build and maintain detailed project schedules and budgets
Project Coordination & Oversight
Coordinate and manage subcontractors, construction project managers, and internal teamsEnsure the safety and well-being of all workers and subcontractors on siteMonitor progress, identify risks early, and implement corrective actions as neededEnsure all insurance, bonding, and security requirements are in placeCommunication & Stakeholder Management
Act as a primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholdersProvide regular, clear project updates on a defined reporting cadenceRespond promptly and professionally to client and stakeholder inquiriesAttend and lead project meetings, including preparing agendas and distributing meeting minutesAdministration & Controls
Prepare and review invoices, estimates, and project budgetsManage contracts and ensure all change orders are properly documented and approvedMaintain accurate and up-to-date project records, including drawings, O&M manuals, product data, and site documentationEnsure project management software and systems are current at all timesReview, approve, and / or submit employee daily timecardsPeople & Leadership
Provide input into employee performance evaluationsDocument and support performance management, including verbal and written warnings when requiredFoster a collaborative, accountable, and safety-focused project cultureOther Responsibilities
Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Senior Project Manager or General ManagerWhat You Bring
Experience & Education
Bachelors degree in a related field, or equivalent construction experience15 years of successful experience in construction project managementDemonstrated leadership experience with a track record of successful project deliveryWorking knowledge of civil construction and / or mining environmentsSkills & Capabilities
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyHighly detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindsetExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong technical aptitude and comfort with project management software and computer systemsAbility to analyze data and deliver clear, actionable project reportsAbility to work collaboratively in a team-driven environmentAdditional Requirements
Industry-related certifications and licenses may be requiredWorking knowledge of commercial vehicle inspection requirements is an assetValid Class 5 Drivers LicenceWhy MacKay
