Our Supply, Trading and Optimization (ST&O) team is looking for a Natural Gas Scheduler who will be part of a small dynamic team exposed to multiple facets of natural gas scheduling, marketing, and trading.
Minimum Requirements :
8 years of industry experience, preferably in natural gas
A post-secondary education
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including vlookups, pivots, creating and maintaining macros
Knowledge of natural gas logistics, markets and pipeline nomination practices and systems
Strategic, operational and commercial acumen with the ability to analyze internal and external drivers in order to strategize and optimize commercial opportunities
Relationship building and management to optimize commercial transactions / execute commercial agreements.
Risk identification and management with the ability to identify, understand and manage various risk in accordance with Suncor standards, policies and regulatory requirements
A highly detail-oriented approach, with excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills, and the ability to anticipate requirements and take initiative
Responsibilities :
Ensure reliable scheduling of natural gas receipts and deliveries on pipelines across Canada and within the United States
Manage gas balance recovery (GBR) – NGTL receipt nominations, production estimates, stakeholder communications and associated analytics
Assist in the management of NGTL transportations service (FTR,FTD) – strategy, transfers, renewals, assignments
Provide commercial support for marketing and origination activities as required
Identify, troubleshoot, and correct issues quickly and effectively
Communicate clearly and effectively both within the team and with external contacts to understand issues and solve problems
Manage and communicate supply and demand positions to traders, marketers, and originators
Reconcile and balance transactions in our deal entry system against scheduling spreadsheets, trade spreadsheets, pipeline systems and mid-office
Gather large amounts of data from multiple sources and provide analysis to origination, marketing, and trading
Maintain awareness and expertise on pipeline logistical matters, including outages, operational conditions, available capacity, etc., and take the initiative to keep the team informed
Identify and make recommendation for process and spreadsheet improvements
Create and maintain process documentation

You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs; rotating on-call schedule for the evenings, weekends, and / or holidays
