Senior DevOps Cloud Engineer

Job Summary:

The Senior DevOps/Cloud Engineer will design, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure and application environments supporting enterprise pub/sub integrations. This role focuses on serverless and containerized applications, leveraging AWS CDK and CloudFormation for infrastructure as code, while ensuring security, reliability, and operational excellence in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, provision, and maintain AWS infrastructure using AWS CDK (Python/JavaScript) and CloudFormation.
• Develop reusable infrastructure constructs, templates, deployment plans, and rollback procedures.
• Build, deploy, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Lambda-based applications and API Gateway integrations.
• Manage ECS container applications, including NextGen Connect services, with scaling, health checks, and deployment controls.
• Configure and troubleshoot Application Load Balancers, listeners, routing, and security.
• Investigate and resolve deployment, networking, permissions, and runtime issues across AWS services.
• Create and maintain IAM roles, policies, and access controls following least-privilege principles.
• Manage cloud networking components such as VPCs, subnets, security groups, and DNS.
• Implement operational visibility through logs, metrics, dashboards, alerts, and tracing.
• Support automated build, deployment, environment promotion, and configuration management workflows.
• Respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and maintain operational documentation and runbooks.

Required Skills:

• Senior-level experience with AWS CDK in Python and JavaScript, and AWS CloudFormation.
• Expertise in AWS Lambda and API Gateway deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon ECS, Application Load Balancer, and NextGen Connect in containerized environments.
• Strong knowledge of AWS IAM roles, policies, security best practices, and least-privilege access management.
• Experience managing VPC networking, security groups, and cloud connectivity.
• Proficient in building automated deployment pipelines and infrastructure validation.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve production issues across serverless and containerized applications.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with event-driven AWS services such as SQS, SNS, and EventBridge.
• Familiarity with Amazon ECR, ECS on Fargate, and container security practices.
• Proficiency in monitoring and observability tools like CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and distributed tracing.
• Knowledge of secrets management, encryption, certificates, and secure application connectivity.
• Experience supporting healthcare integration platforms, FHIR APIs, or regulated environments.
