Summary:
Location: Montreal
Work Mode: Hybrid (3x/week in-office presence required)
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Responsibilities:
- Involved in detailed technical design, development, and implementation of applications using emerging technology choices.
- Own the development of a new platform following established best practices and standards.
- Focus on usability, cloud adoption, and user experience.
- Engage with a wide user base globally to develop effective user interfaces for onboarding and regulatory platforms.
- Participate in all facets of software development, from requirement analysis to design and development.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of agile development practices.
Requirements:
- Strong technology background with advanced knowledge of Java and Java-based technology stack.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Java EE and core Java.
- Experience with web service development, REST, and Services Oriented Architecture.
- Expertise in Object-Oriented Design, design patterns, architecture, and application integration.
- Working knowledge of databases, including design and SQL proficiency.
- Strong experience with development and automated testing frameworks like Spring, JUnit, BDD, etc.
- Experience with Unix/Linux.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple internal and external groups, including offshore teams and vendors.
- Strong development skills with the ability to translate technical design into workable solutions.
- Familiarity with working in a large team.
- Willingness to learn new technologies to meet business requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including system integration and infrastructure debugging.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Web UI JS frameworks like AngularJS, ExtJS.
- Awareness or experience with Pega BPM tools or other Business Process Management tools.
- Experience with distributed caching and NoSQL databases like Marklogic.
- Big Data technology experience such as Hadoop, Apache Spark, Elastic Search.
- Experience with data management through vendor feeds.
