About the Position

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Warehouse - Team Lead/Shift Supervisor to join our fast-paced warehouse operation.

For candidates being considered, this warehouse position carries additional responsibility for supporting the day-to-day operation of the warehouse and providing direction and leadership to warehouse staff. The Team Lead/Shift Supervisor will help coordinate workflow, assign tasks, monitor productivity and quality, and support the Operations Manager in ensuring that daily warehouse activities are completed efficiently and accurately.

Principal Responsibilities

Candidates considered for the Warehouse - Team Lead/Shift Supervisor position will be expected to demonstrate strong warehouse knowledge and the ability to provide leadership and direction within a busy warehouse environment.

Additional responsibilities may include:

• Provide day-to-day direction and support to warehouse employees.
• Help coordinate daily warehouse activities and workflow based on production and shipping requirements.
• Assign tasks and help ensure employees are working efficiently and productively.
• Monitor order picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and product processing activities.
• Assist with prioritizing work during high-volume periods and seasonal peaks.
• Provide guidance and training to new and existing warehouse employees.
• Help ensure orders are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Monitor product handling, inventory accuracy, and quality standards.
• Identify operational issues and communicate concerns or delays to the Operations Manager.
• Assist with resolving day-to-day warehouse problems and workflow challenges.
• Promote a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
• Lead by example and demonstrate a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Help ensure company policies, procedures, and safety practices are followed.
• Assist the Operations Manager with other warehouse-related duties and projects as required.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of related warehouse experience within a warehouse or distribution operation.
• Floral industry experience.
• Temperature-controlled distribution experience would be considered an asset.
• Previous experience providing leadership, direction, training, or supervision to warehouse employees.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate warehouse activities and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, including order picking, packing, shipping, receiving, inventory control, and product handling.
• Ability to assign tasks, monitor workflow, and help ensure productivity and quality standards are maintained.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with warehouse employees and management.
• Ability to identify operational issues and escalate concerns appropriately to the Operations Manager.
• Previous forklift experience would be an asset
• ERP, warehouse management system, or inventory management system experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead by example, maintain professionalism, and contribute positively to a team environment.

Working Conditions

• High-energy, fast-paced warehouse environment with various temperature zones.
• Cooler: approximately 3–4°C.
• Warehouse/Packing Room: approximately 10–18°C.
• Must be willing and able to work in different temperature conditions depending on production demand.
• Standing and walking for most of the shift.
• Regular lifting of boxes up to 50 lbs., with an average weight of approximately 20–35 lbs.
• Moving floral carts, both empty and full.
• Due to the nature of the floral industry, longer hours may be required around holidays and peak seasonal periods.
• Weekend availability is required. Rotating and during the flower holiday seasons.
