Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to manage engagements for a dedicated portfolio of owner-managed businesses while working alongside an experienced, collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities

Financial Statement Preparation: Draft and finalize Notice to Reader / Compilation Engagement financial statements in accordance with professional standards.

Review Engagements: Support and contribute to review engagement files (prior exposure is an asset).

Tax Compliance: Complete comprehensive tax filings across corporate (T2), personal (T1), partnership (T5013), and trust (T3) accounts.

Working Papers & Documentation: Build thorough, high-quality year-end working paper files and supporting schedules.

Client Portfolio Management: Serve as a direct point of contact for private enterprise owners, fielding accounting queries, gathering required records, and resolving tax matters.

Engagement Execution: Monitor file milestones to ensure all client deliverables are executed with precision and delivered on schedule.

Internal Collaboration: Partner closely with firm leadership, partners, and peers on diverse accounting assignments.
Technical Proficiencies

Experience with CaseWare and CaseView is preferred.

Proficiency in Taxprep (or equivalent professional tax software) is preferred.

Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online is strongly valued, as it serves as the core bookkeeping platform for many of our clients.
Candidate Qualifications

Credentials: CPA designation completed or near completion preferred.

Experience: Multi-year track record within a Canadian public accounting practice.

Core Competencies: Proven capability in compilation engagements, corporate tax compliance, and personal tax returns.

Valued Additions: Prior exposure to review engagements, estate/trust filings, or partnership returns is an asset.

Technical Knowledge: Strong command of ASPE and Canadian income tax legislation.
