Admissions Support
Salary: $46,512 to $55,224 per year
Location: Slave Lake
Start Date: September 8, 2026
Qualifications:
- A post-secondary certificate is required; preference may be given to candidates with Office Administration or Business Administration
- Minimum of two years of related office experience
- Experience working with computer systems and email communication
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- A clean vulnerable sector criminal record check prior to commencement
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license
- A combination of education and training may be considered
Assets:
- Keyboarding skills
- Experience in a post-secondary environment, particularly in admissions
Nature and Scope of Work:
Reporting to the Associate Registrar, this position is responsible for providing front-line service and information to clients, as well as supporting the Admissions Office in the processing of applications for admission to Northern Lakes College. This position plays a key role in delivering responsive and professional service to prospective and current students. The Admissions Support provides administrative assistance, responds to inquiries regarding College programs and services, and supports the efficient processing and organization of application documentation. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Front-Line Service and Communication
- Provide front-line service through shared switchboard and reception functions
- Respond to general inquiries regarding College programs and services
- Provide accurate and timely information to prospective and current students
- Maintain a professional and helpful approach when interacting with the public
Admissions Support and Processing
- Assist with processing applications for admission to College programs
- Organize and maintain application documentation and records
- Perform routine data entry and ensure accuracy of information
- Prepare and distribute standard correspondence as directed
- Conduct follow-up communication with applicants regarding outstanding requirements
Administrative Support
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Admissions Office
- Support Student Services staff as required
- Assist with organizing and maintaining records and files
- Contribute to efficient workflow within the Admissions Office
Skills/Knowledge:
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and data entry systems
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
