An entry-level Accountant position is available through Robert Half. This position would best suit a candidate with a positive attitude and who enjoys working with Excel and QuickBooks. This is a long-term contract / temporary to hire entry-level Accountant role based in South Surrey, British Columbia. The Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager. What you get to do every day

  • Reconciling and balancing general ledger accounts
  • Carrying out alternate duties and taking part in special projects as assigned
  • Enter data
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Assisting with full cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
  • Researching and correcting account discrepancies

Job Requirements :

  • QuickBooks experience desired
  • Proficiency in Financial Statement
  • Expertise in Post Journal Entries
  • Foundational knowledge in year end closings
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
  • Willing to work as part of a team or independently and have the drive to take on a variety of tasks and projects
  • High-level understanding of Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, vlookups) is preferred
  • Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
  • 1 year of relevant accounting experience necessary
  • Applicants with an AA or BS / BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business are required for this position
  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Public practice experience preferred
