As the province’s largest energy provider with more than 100 years of knowledge and experience, we proudly deliver renewable energy, natural gas, electricity and propane to 1.3 million customers.

We're actively seeking new talent to join our mission of delivering a stronger energy future in B.C. As one of BC's Top Employers with a diverse team of over 2,700 employees, we are committed to a safe and inclusive culture where each of us can connect, belong, and grow. Join us, and together, let's shape a brighter future for B.C.

Position Overview

You’re an experienced senior level Project Manager with a strong track record of leading complex infrastructure projects through execution. You bring decisive leadership and strategic oversight to construction, commissioning, and transition to operations.

As Project Director, Eagle Mountain - Woodfibre Gas Pipeline (EGP), you will provide strategic oversight and executive level decision making to ensure the project achieves its safety, schedule, budget, regulatory, and performance objectives in the effective execution of the Eagle Mountain - Woodfibre Gas Pipeline project. As a primary representative of the Owner, you will lead engagement with contractors, regulators, Indigenous Nations, and senior internal stakeholders, while providing authoritative leadership to a large multidisciplinary project team.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for construction, commissioning, and handover to operations, ensuring disciplined execution of the EGP project.
  • Develop and implement project execution, contracting, and management strategies to align with corporate objectives and deliver on cost, quality, integrity, durability, and customer functionality commitments.
  • Monitor schedule performance, anticipate critical‑path risks, and lead cross‑functional recovery planning and escalation to maintain delivery targets.
  • Ensure contractors meet technical, quality, safety, and contractual obligations, holding senior contractor leadership accountable for performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Champion a strong safety culture and environmental stewardship, reinforcing compliance with FEI standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Exercise delegated financial and contractual authority, including approval of change orders, risk responses, claims strategies, and contingency deployment.
  • Maintain respectful, constructive relationships with Indigenous Nations, host communities, regulators, and local governments, ensuring commitments are tracked, upheld, and communicated.
  • Provide oversight of project controls, including budgets, forecasts, risk registers, change management, and performance reporting, escalating material risks and directing mitigation strategies.
  • Assemble, lead, and develop a high‑performing, integrated team of employees, contractors, consultants, and suppliers, modeling FEI values and reinforcing expectations for integrity and professionalism.
  • Represent the Owner in coordination meetings, executive briefings, and regulatory or stakeholder engagements, collaborating closely with senior leaders and internal departments to ensure alignment and visibility.

What it takes:

  • Engineering degree with Professional Engineering designation from a recognized program or equivalent.
  • Minimum 15 years in large-scale infrastructure or energy projects, ideally within pipeline or utility sectors.
  • Project Manager Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with EGBC.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, project controls, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholder relations, including Indigenous Nations and host communities.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching and team development skills.
  • Commitment to safety, integrity and professional excellence.
  • Extensive knowledge of pipeline project practices in Canada in general and BC specifically.
  • Self-starter with proven history of delivery of on time on cost.

Additional Information

This position will require regular travel to our Squamish and Coquitlam EGP sites.

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive, and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
