  • Independently manage utility CAD design tasks with minimal supervision, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Review and interpret utility record information and integrate survey and SUE data into coordinated composite utility plans.
  • Develop and maintain 3D utility models to support design development, coordination, clash detection, and constructability reviews.
  • Produce plan & profile drawings, cross‑sections, and detailed utility design sheets using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and model‑based workflows.
  • Coordinate with multi‑disciplinary teams including civil, highways, bridges, transit/rail, structural, geotechnical, survey, and SUE providers.
  • Interface with municipalities, utility owners, and external stakeholders to support utility coordination and conflict resolution.
  • Manage drawing production workflows and perform QA/QC reviews of drawings and models.
  • Support preparation of quantity take‑offs, tender documentation, and as‑constructed drawings.
  • Mentor and guide intermediate and junior CAD staff, contributing to continuous improvement of CAD standards and workflows.

What your experience looks like

  • 7+ years of experience in utility or municipal CAD design, preferably within transportation or linear infrastructure projects.
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of municipal utility design standards, construction practices, and urban right‑of‑way constraints.
  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of CAD deliverables.
