Course Number and Title: CSC498H5S LEC101 – Topics in Computer Science
Course Description: Introduction to a topic of current interest in computer science intended for CSC majors and specialists. Content will vary from year to year.

TA Support: 54 hrs per 30 students enrolled per semester
Sessional Dates of Appointment: January 1, 2027 – April 30, 2027
Salary: Rate of pay for Sessional Lecturer is as follows: Sessional Lecturer I = $14,381; Sessional Lecturer I - Long Term = $16,080; Sessional Lecturer II = $16,080.
Class Schedule (in person): Lecture: Thursday 15:00 – 17:00
Minimum Qualifications: Completion of a graduate degree in Computer Science or education. Advanced comprehension of the subject matter as evidenced by research activity, industry experience, or teaching experience. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated evidence of excellence in teaching preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrable currency and mastery.
