Food Rx Senior Coordinator

Overview:

FoodShare is seeking a Food Rx Senior Coordinator to take the lead on an innovative program bringing food equity to life. The Food Rx Senior Coordinator will oversee program operations participant engagement team supervision budget management and key partnerships with UHN. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in community-based work and is committed to food justice.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

Supervision

• Supervise two Community Learning and Engagement (CLE) facilitators and work collaboratively with the broader CLE team to plan coordinate and deliver the Food Rx project.

Operations & Logistics

• Engage up to 1000 Food Rx project participants through registration intake and ongoing project relations.
• Independently oversee produce box orders and/or prepped meal deliveries to selected Food Rx project participants by coordinating the project participant roster and delivery logistics.

Management & Coordination

• Coordinate and co-lead the delivery of hands-on community-based food programming at 90 Dunn for project participants in collaboration with CLE facilitators.
• Lead engagement through regular check-ins with Food Rx project participants through in-person conversations and phone calls administer surveys throughout the project period manage data entry and provide data reporting support.

Administrative Management

• Prepare reports and oversee the full project reporting cycle managing and maintaining program information and documentation.
• Coordinate program budget of $650000 in partnership with CLE Manager and UHN coordination team tracking expenses in real time for the project and preparing invoices for UHN on a quarterly basis for services provided.

Communications & Public Relations

• Act as the main point of contact between FoodShare and UHN throughout the project period leading cross-organizational co-planning and program delivery.
• Represent Foodshare publicly regarding media inquiries and news stories about the Food Rx project.
• Autonomously lead promotion outreach and information-sharing to raise awareness and community engagement about the Food Rx project.
• Participate in FoodShare staff meetings all staff training and handle other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years experience in community-led food projects neighbourhood-based community organizing and/or working with grassroots organizations.
• Minimum 2 years experience managing community-based program logistics including scheduling participant coordination and service delivery.
• Minimum 2 years experience managing partnerships and working collaboratively with external stakeholders and/or institutional organizations.
• Minimum 1 year experience with budget tracking expense reconciliation invoice preparation or financial administration.
• Demonstrated commitment to principles of food justice.
• Demonstrated ability to work within a diverse community (people of different ages abilities cultural backgrounds etc.).
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple project demands set priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• Experience with coordinating research data collection and basic data analysis.
• Experience with program coordination involving multi-site projects.
• Excellent conflict resolution and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiar with G-Suite in (Google Drive Sheets Docs Calendar Gmail etc.).

Salary and Benefits

Total Compensation

• Salary: $61250 (37.5 hours per week)
• Vacation: 4 weeks paid vacation per year (prorated for termed contracts accrued at 8% per pay period).
• Winter Shutdown: additional days to be determined annually over the winter holiday period
• Extended Health Benefits: Available upon start
• Retirement Contributions: Matching TFSA/RRSP (up to 4%) contributions after 3 months

Additional Leave

• Personal Leave Days: 10 paid personal leave days per year
• Wellness Days: 20 paid wellness days/sick leave per year

Contract Type: Full-Time FIxed-Term (11 month contract)

Reports to: Manager Community Learning and Engagement

Location: On-site bi-weekly programming at 90 Dunn (first and third Thursday of every month); otherwise hybrid role with some in-person meetings at FoodShares Offices at 120 Industry St. or other partner locations across Toronto as needed.
