Position: Program Support Volunteer, MAX Calgary

Status: Temporary (1-Year), Part-Time
Weekly Time Commitment: 5–10 hours
Department: MAX Calgary
Reports To: Lead, MAX Calgary
Location: Alberta-based; primarily remote with required in-person support in Calgary, as needed

Job Summary

Role Overview

The General Volunteer will support a range of MAX Calgary initiatives, including industry panel and mentorship programming, events, and administrative activities. This role is primarily remote (approximately 90%) and requires the volunteer to be based in Alberta, with the ability to provide in-person support in Calgary as needed.

The volunteer will work collaboratively with MAX Calgary leadership and teams to help ensure programs and events are well-coordinated, responsive, and impactful.

Key Responsibilities

Program & Administrative Support

  • Support coordination of program activities, schedules, and communications
  • Assist with tracking engagement and maintaining program documentation
  • Support follow-ups, data organization, and basic reporting related to program initiatives

Event & Logistics Support

  • Assist with planning and logistics for programs, events and sessions
  • Provide in-person support in Calgary when required
  • Support registration, attendance tracking, and participant communications

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with the MAX Calgary leadership
  • Support outreach and ongoing communication with mentors and mentees
  • Contribute ideas and feedback to enhance processes and participant experience

Qualifications & Experience

  • 2–3 years of professional experience in any field
  • Previous volunteering experience is an asset but not required
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
  • Comfortable working independently in a primarily remote, collaborative environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Must be based in Alberta and able to attend in-person meetings or events in Calgary as required
