Description de poste

Matrix360 is a people‑first talent and workplace culture firm for the commercial real estate and development (CRED) industry. For more than 20 years, we’ve helped organizations build stronger teams, healthier workplaces, and more inclusive cultures because when people thrive, businesses thrive.

We understand the CRED industry deeply—and we care about the people who drive it and the communities it shapes. That’s why we lead with a human‑centered approach to everything we do. We listen closely, we meet organizations where they are, and we bring the insight and guidance needed to help teams work better together. Through talent advisory, leadership support, and culture transformation, we help workplaces become places where people feel valued, respected, and able to do their best work.

At Matrix360, equity isn’t an add‑on, it’s embedded in how we partner, how we recruit, and how we help organizations grow. We are committed to creating fair access and opportunity at every stage of employment and leadership, so people and businesses can succeed together.

About The Opportunity

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Head of Private Capital Markets to lead and grow the firm’s East Asia investor practice, reporting to the Executive Director. This is a senior leadership role with full ownership of strategy, relationships, and team performance for one of the firm’s most strategically important investor segments. The incumbent will represent the firm at the most senior level with high‑net‑worth clients across the broader East Asian community in Canada, while leading and coaching a high‑performing internal team.

The successful candidate will be a sophisticated, bilingual (Mandarin and English) sales leader with a proven track record of building and scaling profitable client portfolios within investor communities. They will bring deep knowledge of investment products, exceptional executive presence, and the cultural fluency needed to engage thoughtfully with high‑net‑worth investors. They will be a coach, a strategist, and an operator — comfortable setting direction, leading new ideas and initiatives, and elevating the standard of work across their team.

The compensation package is a base salary in the range of $150,000–$200,000 with a discretionary bonus of up to 100% of base, along with full health benefits and four weeks of vacation. The role is based in Toronto and operates fully in‑office. Our client is an advocate for equity and diversity and recognizes the importance of leadership engagement within its framework.

Candidate Profile Summary

You are an up‑and‑coming investment or capital markets leader who thrives in high‑trust, high‑standards environments. You bring credibility with sophisticated investors and a disciplined mindset to everything you do, delivering a consistently exceptional investor experience built on transparency, rigor, and follow‑through.

You are fluent in complex investment strategies and comfortable engaging accredited clients with both technical depth and executive presence. You balance strategic relationship management with operational excellence, ensuring strong oversight of pipeline management, suitability standards, and regulatory compliance within the Exempt Market Dealer framework.

As a leader, you lead with initiative, ownership and resilience. You set clear expectations, lead by example, coach effectively, and navigate ambiguity with confidence. You contribute meaningfully to the firm’s market positioning, strengthen relationships across established and emerging investor communities, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Build and steward a portfolio of high‑value East Asian investor relationships, providing sophisticated guidance across offerings, suitability, structure, risk, and performance
  • Lead the investor sales process for both project‑by‑project and open‑ended fund capital raises
  • Serve as a senior ambassador of the firm at investor events, industry conferences, and high‑profile engagements within the East Asian investor ecosystem for new business development
  • Re‑engage and re‑activate past investor pool through new initiatives, events, product offering, and relationship building
  • Handle complex investor inquiries, escalations, and deal‑specific discussions with professionalism and discretion

Sales Strategy

  • Set the strategic direction for the East Asia investor practice in partnership with senior leadership, defining objectives for capital growth, retention, and expansion across existing and emerging investor communities
  • Develop long‑range plans to deepen the firm’s presence within East Asian investor communities in Canada and across the Pacific
  • Translate market trends, investor behaviour, and competitive positioning into clear strategic priorities and growth opportunities
  • Implement structured outreach plans, targeted marketing initiatives, new networking strategies, and thought leadership activities that drive new investor engagement
  • Partner with Marketing team to refine investor‑facing materials, presentations, webinars, and educational content tailored to the East Asian investor audience

Team Oversight

  • Oversee the team’s investor pipeline in Salesforce, ensuring disciplined tracking, prioritization, and movement through every stage of the engagement lifecycle
  • Ensure all investor activity reflects the firm’s regulatory obligations under the Exempt Market Dealer (EMD) framework and suitability standards
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members, setting clear standards for quality, accountability, and continuous professional growth
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, resilience, and high performance across the team

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in sales or business development, ideally within the financial services or real estate investment industries, with exposure to leading a sales or investor‑facing team
  • Proven track record of building and scaling a profitable client portfolio, ideally within East Asian markets or investor communities
  • Strong understanding of investment products, with preference for experience in the Exempt Market Dealer (EMD) regulatory framework
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English (verbal and written) is required
  • Proficiency with CRM systems — Salesforce strongly preferred — and the MS Office suite
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market trends and translate them into clear strategy
  • Exceptional relationship‑building skills with high‑net‑worth and sophisticated investors
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to coach, influence, and set a standard of excellence across a team
  • High resilience, adaptability, and comfort operating in fast‑paced, dynamic environments
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and professional integrity
  • Ability to travel occasionally to support investor engagements
