It also involves responding to ad hoc requests, managing data projects, and advising stakeholders on reporting standards and tools. With a strong emphasis on continuous improvement, data integrity, and cross-functional coordination, this position is critical in advancing a data-informed culture and improving the division’s financial decision-making capacity.

  • Ensuring data quality through validation, reconciliation, and monitoring processes
  • Supporting the development and implementation of divisional data standards and best practices within the enterprise data governance framework
  • Collaborating with IT and finance teams to enhance system integration and data architecture
  • Leading and supporting data and reporting projects, including planning, execution, and stakeholder coordination
  • Preparing reports, presentations, and insights for senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Providing advisory support and training on data tools, reporting standards, and analytics practices

  • A professional designation (e.g., CPA, CFA, CBIP) or certification in data analytics is considered an asset.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in financial data analysis, enterprise data management, or systems integration within a complex institutional or public sector environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing large-scale data systems, reporting architectures, and financial dashboards.
  • Hands-on experience with data management and predictive analytics is required.
  • Familiarity with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), financial planning tools, and business intelligence systems is essential.

SKILLS:

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, Excel, and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.
  • Strong working knowledge of data modeling, business intelligence systems, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to synthesize large, complex datasets into meaningful insights.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated project management capability, attention to detail, and ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, political acumen, and a commitment to continuous learning and innovation.

OTHER:

  • Demonstrated creativity and initiative in exploring data-driven solutions to complex problems.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable outputs in support of operational and strategic decision-making.
