Description de poste

Thornton Tomasetti applies engineering and scientific principles to solve the world’s challenges. An independent organization of creative thinkers and innovative doers collaborating from offices worldwide, our mission is to bring our clients' ideas to life and, in the process, lay the groundwork for a better, more resilient future. We provide support and opportunities to our employees to achieve their full potential and cultivate a rewarding career.

The Thornton Tomasetti Acoustics, Noise and Vibration team delivers projects controlling noise and vibration that can be critical to the success of a building. From perfecting the acoustics in a concert hall, to making it easier for students to concentrate in class, limiting uncomfortable sway in tall buildings, protecting industrial workers from hearing loss, keeping sensitive medical imaging equipment rock steady, complying with national or local regulations, or preventing your construction activity from damaging nearby structures, we have the expertise and the team is growing.

  • Support project pursuits through proposal writing, marketing materials, and technical papers
  • Collaborate across disciplines and mentor junior staff members

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science (advanced degree preferred) with 5+ years of professional experience in acoustics, noise, and vibration control
  • Demonstrated expertise using sound and vibration measurement instrumentation and industry modeling software (e.g., CadnaA, ODEON, STAMSON, or equivalent)
  • Strong command of physical acoustics, vibration theory, and applicable regulatory codes, standards, and permitting requirements
  • Proven ability to deliver high‑quality technical analysis and documentation while managing budgets, schedules, and client expectations
  • Experience interfacing with regulatory agencies, interpreting mechanical/electrical/process drawings, and mentoring junior technical staff
