Senior UI Developer -Vice President

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Application Developer to join our dynamic Rates Technology team. This position is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of new and revised application systems and programs. The candidate will perform in‑depth application systems analysis and programming, collaborating closely with various technology and business teams globally to deliver robust and efficient software solutions. The primary objective of this role is to drive innovation and technical excellence within our trading application landscape.

Responsibilities

• Role Overview and Key Responsibilities. Contribute directly to technology initiatives that support our Rates trading business, including hands‑on UI development and system design.
• Business Collaboration. Work closely with Rates trading desks to understand requirements and translate complex business needs into intuitive, efficient, user‑centric UI designs.
• UI Development. Design scalable Web UI architecture, write high‑quality code, and conduct comprehensive testing to ensure functionality meets business specifications.
• Process Improvement. Contribute to continual improvement of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) by refining development methodologies, enhancing code quality standards, and adopting best practices.
• Project Delivery. Deliver large‑scale, complex technology projects from conception through to deployment using hands‑on development skills and deep technical expertise.
• Production Support. Serve as a third‑line support contact for the production system, handling escalated issues that require deep technical analysis; supported by dedicated 24/7 first and second‑line teams.

Detailed Responsibilities

• Technical Analysis: Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for new and existing projects to ensure they are robust, scalable, and aligned with architectural standards.
• Business Integration: Develop comprehensive knowledge of how different areas of the business integrate and function to accomplish strategic goals, ensuring technology solutions enhance these processes.
• Innovation: Identify opportunities for innovation, research emerging trends, and adapt cutting‑edge technologies to deliver best‑in‑class software solutions.
• Standards and Procedures: Ensure all essential development and operational procedures are strictly followed.
• Risk and Compliance Management: Appropriately assess risk, drive compliance with applicable laws, proactively manage and report control issues, and practice a culture of accountability.

Knowledge and Experience

• Development Experience: Minimum 6+ years of in‑depth professional development experience, focus on client‑side applications.
• Client‑Side Technologies: Expertise in Angular, ReactJS, HTML5, ES6+, TypeScript, and reactive programming (e.g., RxJS).
• API and Data Integration: Proven experience with high‑throughput, low‑latency systems, streaming data feeds, and RESTful APIs.
• Core Technology Stack: Experience with Kafka, Solace, and MongoDB.
• DevOps and Deployment: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Tekton, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
• Professional Skills: Self‑starting, fast‑paced, desk‑facing, TDD practices, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, clear communication, attention to detail, and willingness to learn complex mathematics of financial derivatives.
• Business Knowledge: Prior knowledge of the Rates Derivatives business preferred.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree, university degree, or equivalent experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
