Seventh Heaven Event Catering is a boutique catering company based in Etobicoke, serving Toronto and the GTA. We specialize in creating memorable experiences for weddings, corporate events, private parties, and upscale social gatherings. Our team works in a variety of venues including private homes, estates, corporate offices, galleries, and established event spaces. Every event is unique, so no two shifts are ever the same.
As a freelance Event Catering Server or Banquet Server, you will play a key role in making our events run smoothly. You will assist with preparing service areas, setting up tables, organizing linens, and ensuring everything is ready for guests. During the event, you will provide professional service, which could include passing hors d'oeuvres, assisting with plated dinners, helping at buffet or food stations, and ensuring guests have an exceptional experience. Teamwork is important, so you will work closely with other servers, kitchen staff, and event supervisors to maintain high service standards.
After the event, you will help with breakdown, clearing tables, packing equipment, and ensuring everything is organized before leaving the venue. Our events range from intimate dinners to large weddings and corporate functions, so there are opportunities to work on a wide variety of event types.
Candidates with leadership experience may also be considered for Event Supervisor roles, where responsibilities include overseeing service teams, coordinating with kitchen and event leads, and ensuring that service flows smoothly. Experience as a banquet captain, catering supervisor, or hospitality team lead is a strong asset.
We are looking for individuals who are reliable, professional, and comfortable working in hospitality or catering. Previous experience in restaurant service, fine dining, catering, or banquet environments is strongly preferred. Staff should be able to stand for extended periods, lift and move catering equipment as needed, and communicate effectively with the team. Reliable transportation to events across the GTA is required, and most shifts take place evenings and weekends.
While not required, having Smart Serve certification or experience driving catering vans is considered an asset. Experience working weddings, corporate events, or upscale private parties is also highly valued. Staff are expected to maintain a professional appearance by wearing black dress pants, a black long-sleeve shirt, a black tie, black socks, and non-slip shoes during events.
