LOOKING FOR A SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Workland is pleased to support a reputable wholesale and retail distributor in the Greater Toronto Area. The Sales Representative will help grow the company’s presence in key markets, build strong relationships with commercial clients, and drive sales. Successful candidates should have prior experience in sales and a solid understanding of customer needs and market trends within this segment.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Representative plays a central part in expanding business within multiple core sectors. Working under the direction of the Accounts Manager, the role centers on developing effective sales approaches and partnering with teams across purchasing, operations, customer service, and marketing to ensure aligned execution.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

  • Actively seek out and engage new prospects across several industries, while strengthening partnerships within existing accounts;
  • Develop tailored sales plans that support company growth targets and market positioning;
  • Carry out the complete sales cycle: lead generation, discovery, quoting, negotiation, and finalizing agreements;
  • Introduce new products and broaden category penetration within current customers;
  • Conduct on-site visits, prepare presentations, and participate in business reviews to reinforce client relationships;
  • Analyze customer needs to recommend product options that best suit their operations;
  • Track competitor activity, pricing trends, and industry developments to stay ahead of market shifts;
  • Identify gaps in the market and propose new product opportunities aligned with customer demand;
  • Participate in trade shows and industry events to represent the company and nurture new relationships;
  • Coordinate closely with purchasing to confirm supplier pricing, availability, and product details;
  • Support marketing by providing insights for promotions, campaigns, and seasonal initiatives;
  • Ensure smooth order processing by working with operations and customer service teams.

THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION ARE:

  • Education in business, marketing, sales, or a related field (or equivalent experience);
  • 3-5 years of proven success in sales or business development, ideally within aligned product categories;
  • Demonstrated strength in securing new business and managing mid-to-large commercial accounts;
  • Comfortable working with procurement managers, buyers, and operational stakeholders;
  • Excellent communication abilities in English, both written and verbal;
  • A solid understanding of consumable product lines such as janitorial, packaging, food service, or retail is considered a significant asset;
  • Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel within the region.
